Everything you need to set up and customize the Page section — from displaying your store page content and adjusting the heading size to configuring padding and applying a color scheme.
A page in Shopify is a standalone piece of content that lives outside of your blog or product catalog. Pages are commonly used for information that doesn't change often, such as an "About Us" story, a "Contact Us" form, shipping policies, FAQs, or any other static content you want visitors to find easily.
In the Boardwalk theme, the Page section is the main content area of every page template. It automatically displays the page's title and body content that you've written in the Shopify admin. The content is centered within a clean, readable column layout with customizable heading size, vertical padding, and color scheme support.
Follow these steps to create a page and configure how it looks in your Boardwalk theme.
In your Shopify admin, go to
Online Store → Pages and click
Add page. Enter a title and body content
using the rich text editor. The title you enter here will
be displayed as the heading on the page, and the body
content will appear below it.
Note: You must create at least one page in the Shopify admin before it can be displayed on your storefront. The Page section pulls its title and content directly from what you've entered under Online Store → Pages.
Go to
Online Store → Themes, find Boardwalk,
and click Customize. Use the page
selector dropdown at the top center of the editor to
navigate to Pages and select the page
you want to customize.
In the Theme Editor sidebar, click on the Page section. This is the built-in section that displays your page title and content. It is included by default in the page template.
Adjust the heading font size, choose a color scheme, and set the top and bottom padding to control spacing. These settings let you fine-tune the look and feel of the page without editing any content.
Click Save in the Theme Editor. Preview your page to verify the title, content, and overall appearance are displaying as expected.
These settings apply to the entire Page section and are accessible by clicking the Page section in the Theme Editor sidebar.
Controls the size of the page title text on desktop. Range: 30px to 50px.
Select any defined color scheme to style the section background and text. This changes the overall appearance of the entire page section including the heading and body content.
Controls the amount of space above the page content. Range: 0px to 100px.
Controls the amount of space below the page content. Range: 0px to 100px.
The Page section comes with features that work automatically — no apps or custom code needed.
The section automatically pulls in the page title and body content from the Shopify admin. Any changes you make under Online Store → Pages will be reflected on your storefront without needing to edit the theme.
The body content area supports rich text formatting from the Shopify admin editor. This means you can use bold, italic, links, lists, headings, images, and other formatting within your page content.
Page content is displayed in a centered column with a maximum width of 726 pixels. This keeps text at a comfortable reading width on all screen sizes and gives the page a clean, focused appearance.
While the content stays centered, the section background stretches the full width of the screen. This means the color scheme you choose will fill the entire section area behind the content.
The body content automatically uses your theme's body font family, style, and weight. This ensures the page text matches the typographic style of the rest of your store without any extra configuration.
Some features require action in the Shopify admin before they'll work as expected in your theme.
The Page section displays content from a page you've created in the Shopify admin. Go to Online Store → Pages, click Add page, and enter your title and body content. Without a page created, the section will have nothing to display.
Make sure the page is set to Visible in the Shopify admin. If the page is hidden, it won't be accessible to visitors on your storefront. You can check this in the page editor under the Visibility setting in the right sidebar.
To use the Boardwalk Page section, make sure the page is assigned to a template that includes it. In the Shopify admin page editor, look for the Theme template dropdown in the right sidebar and select the appropriate page template.
The page title and body text are entered and edited in the Shopify admin under Online Store → Pages — not in the Theme Editor. The Theme Editor only controls how that content looks (font size, padding, color scheme), not what it says.
The section uses a color scheme to style its background and text. These color schemes are defined in Online Store → Themes → Customize → Theme settings → Colors. Make sure you've set up the color schemes you want to use before configuring this section.
